 氣動隔膜閥是一種特殊形式的截斷閥，出現于20世紀20年代。它的啟閉件是一塊用軟質材料制成的隔膜，把閥體內腔與閥蓋內腔及驅動部件隔開，故稱氣動隔膜閥。氣動隔膜閥最突出特點是隔膜把下部閥體內腔與上部閥蓋內腔隔開，使位于隔膜上方的閥桿、閥瓣等零件不受介質腐蝕，省去了填料密封結構，且不會產生介質外漏。

1.隔膜閥與其它閥門最大的區(qū)別在于：采用無填料函的構造；橡膠隔 膜可使流道內的腐蝕性介質與所有驅動部件處于完全隔離的狀態(tài)，從而杜 絕了通常閥門的“跑、冒、滴、漏”等弊端。

2.由于隔膜閥的流道平滑，流阻小，故而可獲得較大的流量。

3.視膠隔膜閥的閥體內腔表面視復有廳供選擇的多種橡膠。因此具有 優(yōu)越的耐腐蝕的特點。

4.由于密封件為富有彈性的橡膠隔膜。 因此還具有較好的密封性和最小的關閉力。

5.本閥由閥體、閥蓋、閥瓣、閥桿、隔膜和其它驅動零件等組成。

6.閥門的啟閉是依靠旋轉手輪而達到的。隔膜閥在閥蓋上端標有可窺見閥門處啟或閉位置的顯示色別，以指示閥門的啟閉行程。當順時針放置手輪時 ，手輪即下移，閥瓣隨之帶動隔膜下降使通路截斷；反之則閥門即開啟， 色別隨之顯露。
